FAQ

How do I actually book?

Select the "BOOKING" link on the menu, fill out the form,
and we will be in touch!

What's the process like?

First, you fill out the booking form that gives me your contact info and what type of shoot you're after.

After that, I will send over my investment page for you to look over and decide which package suits your needs. We figure out a date, time, and location (I have a location guide if you need help deciding).

From there, I send over a questionnaire to help me get to know you better, a contract, and invoice. There will be a 50% non-refundable deposit to secure your photoshoot. Please note your time and date is not secured until contract is signed and deposit is paid. Balance is not due until 3 days before your session.

Once those items are finished, I will send over a client styling guide to help you decide your wardrobe - I'm here to help if you have any questions with any ideas you may have.

On photoshoot day, we have a TON of fun. I will help direct you with posing and I like to utilize prompts and silly games to get those genuinely candid moments. You may feel awkward or goofy but I PROMISE it works. Trust the process!

After your session I will send a gallery of your watermarked sneak peaks within 48 hours - download option will be disabled.

When I send you your full watermarked gallery, you will then favorite the # of photos that came with the photo package you selected.

If you are wanting more photos than what came with your package, you may purchase photos individually. I only want you to pay for what you love, but if you decided that you have fallen in love with your entire gallery, you can also purchase the entire gallery for a flat fee :)

Once you select your favorites or purchase the photos you want, I then send over a new link with those selected photos watermark free and available for high-resolution download.

Hopefully by then you have fallen in love with your photos and have deemed me your new photo bestie <3

When do we get our pictures back?

I pride myself in having a quick turnaround time! Depending when and what time our session is, I'm usually too excited to let too much time pass before I get to put some magic into the beautiful pictures we created together.

I typically will send a sneak peak within a day or two, and a full gallery within a week or two. Full disclosure though, the contract I will have you sign allows me to have up to 6 weeks to deliver your photos.
It hasn't happened yet, but life happens!

Do I need a deposit?

Yes. A 50% non-refundable retainer shall be paid in order to book. The date & time is not saved until contract is signed and deposit is paid.

I have a weird/quirky idea concept for our shoot, can we talk about it?

YES!!!! We love the weird and quirky, they make the best friends. After all, these pictures are all about capturing YOU. Weird and quirky included.

Can I bring my dog to be included? Or just cuz?

Um. YES. Always. Additional fee? Never.

Can I have the RAW files?

Chefs don't serve raw pork.
Photographers don't serve raw files.
Cuz safety .

Will my images be shared to social media?

The contract you sign has a model release which allows me to post images on social media, BUT if these are boudoir sessions or minors are involved, I will always ask for your written permission anyway. If you don't want your images posted regardless, please discuss your concerns with me before booking . Your privacy and keeping your trust will always hold priority over sharing my work.

Will you work with my budget?

If by this you mean, can I do a family session for the price of a solo portrait session? No. As much as I wish I could, I also need to feed my family.

BUT! If you talk to me about your circumstance and what's happening, I can try to create a custom bare essentials package to suit your needs.

Do you edit the photos? Can you photoshop me?

Yes, all of the images I deliver will be edited using my signature style of post production & I provide light retouching, but will not make you look like a plastic doll. My goal is for you to love and feel great as you are so changing you to be something different (i.e. removing all stretch marks...everyone has them...or making you look thinner) is not the way I work. My rule of thumb is 2 weeks. If a spot on you will be gone in two weeks (pimples from a breakout, a bruise, a rash, etc.), I edit it out. If it will still be there after 2 weeks, I leave it be. I understand body issues are hard, but I would love for you take this opportunity to celebrate your body. Everyone has cellulite, back rolls, stomach rolls when they sit, etc. If you are looking for someone to alter you photo from head to toe, I am simply not the right photographer for you.

What about scars & stretch marks?

My personal belief is that scars tell a story. Sometimes clients wish they didn't have to be permanently reminded of that story, and other times, clients embrace their scars and say they're a part of them. I used to be embarassed of the keloid scar I have on my chest from when I had cancer in highschool until I grew to look at it as a mark of a survivor, and that's something I'll never be ashamed to be. For this reason, I will never edit out a scar or stretch mark unless a client specifically requests it...and if they do, in fact, request that retouching, I will happily do that at no additional charge (within reason, heavy retouching can be done at an additional cost) so long as you let me know ahead of time. This is a VERY personal topic and it’s not my decision to make. I welcome scars and stretch marks, but I also will support whichever way you lean.

What is the difference between editing and retouching, and why is there an additional cost for retouching?

Editing includes color correction, exposure adjustment, selective B&W processing, contrast and vibrance. Retouching post production includes touch ups such as removal of blemishes, bags under eyes, fly away hairs, removing people in the background, etc. I charge hourly for the custom retouching as the time required ranges depending on the complexity of the request.
